“Erdély Aranykora” (The Golden Age of Transilvania)

My intention with this blog is not to transform it into a “book descriptions” blog, but I want to write about another cool book I have read lately.

A Hungarian writer, Jókai Mór, wrote it and it can be translated as “The Golden Age of Transylvania”. The original title is “Erdély Aranykora” and the background of the story is linked to a part of Transylvania's history from the 17th century, when Transylvania was an independent country and had its own ruler.

It is about leadership, love, understanding among nations, democracy, history, faith, and loyalty to the country, ideas, and wives:) It is a very complex book and you can understand all the aspects of the life from Transylvania and the characteristics of the Transylvanians (and not only) living there, their background and heritage.

It helped me to reconnect with my origins and also helped me to discover that my way of thinking, the things I believe in, the way I am have a strong cultural background/origin; my values have an origin in the fundamental values of my nation.

I strongly recommend this book for all Transylvanians (and not only).
