Time...

Since I live in Singapore, I have a feeling that time has stopped somehow. There are no seasons here (except rainy and very rainy) and this gives you the feeling that it is continuous summer. Maybe because it is continuous summer here, hehe. Just realized that it is December already and that we just celebrated the New Year and just can’t feel that time has passed. I just realized how much our sense of time is linked to the change of the seasons back in Europe and now it feels like still being august – late September. I feel that I am a bit confused and that this lack of change in seasons takes away a bit the sense of urgency as well from my life.

Back home usually you would put your milestones according to the change of seasons (get married till summer, learn Japanese till winter, the dog will have little puppies till spring). Here this is missing and sometimes it feels that can’t link the things happening in my life to something. Even though looking back I know that much more things are happening in my life now (or at least in the past year). One idea I just had is that I put on my desktop pictures with the current European season. Any other ideas to this issue before I get totally lazy and will just stay on the beach whole year round?
